Born in 2021 to change how startups are developed in Spain, BackFund was born with a clear vision: to become the trusted partner for founders at the earliest stages of their journey. From day one, we set out to combine capital, expertise, and a network of innovators to support ambitious entrepreneurs in building world-class companies. With our first fund, we created a pioneering community of Backers in Spain: entrepreneurs, operators, and innovators investing their knowledge and experience to help startups thrive.
Between 2021 and 2024, BackFund I invested in 16 Seed Stage startups out of 1,500+ applications, focusing on teams with bold visions and global ambitions. Through over 350 hours of mentoring, our Backers actively contributed to the growth of our portfolio companies, fostering key corporate partnerships that generated over €1,5M in commercial agreements. This collaborative model proved our belief: great founders paired with engaged Backers create extraordinary outcomes.
Now, we are scaling that vision globally. As a bridge between Spain and international markets, we continue to support exceptional founders in deep tech and transformative industries, empowering them to unlock their full potential and take their innovations to the world stage.
