Karel founded BackFund in 2021 to back the most ambitious Seed Stage founders building the next wave of technological innovation from Europe. With over a decade of experience in the startup ecosystem, he has worked with entrepreneurs from idea to scale, bringing together capital, strategic insight, and a global network to help them grow faster.
Prior to BackFund, Karel led programs at Google for Startups internationally, gaining exposure to the best founders in Europe. As a business angel, he has invested in six several startups and helps cofouonded several others. He has contribute to many innovation and deeptech related projects in the European Commmission.
At BackFund, Karel combines his operator mindset and international perspective to empower founders shaping the future of Deep Tech and beyond.
